Richard, let me add my thanks
to the others for what you are doing. This is a major step
in breaking the silence.
When I was thirteen years
of age my father, Bernard Leick, who had delivered me in the
midst of a blizzard in International Falls, MN, came into my
bedroom where I slept on the bottom bunk bed with a rosary
in my hand, and raped me. I screamed and screamed for help
and my mother, who was a heavy sleeper, eventually came into
the bedroom where I clung to her for help screaming, “Help
me Mama, help me ”over and over. She kept saying I’d had a
nightmare but looking up at the door where my father was
standing clutching his robe I knew it had not been a
nightmare. My “nightmare” continued for five years.

ferocity. Together with the boy's father, now
deceased, she repeatedly burned his hands, horse whipped,
raped him rectally and degraded him whenever the situation
arose. She was never charged or punished for the atrocities

My name is
Richard Carpenter and the objective of this web-site is to
